Plastic Invasion
A photo essay published in Mers et Océans, Collectif DR’s fifth annual photobook, documenting plastic pollution on Lake Kivu and the fragile local efforts emerging in Goma and Bukavu.
The work follows a lake caught between ecological pressure and political turmoil, where floating waste threatens daily life while a youth-led solar pirogue collects plastic from the water and raises awareness in nearby communities.
